Digital Radiography (X Rays)

We have been providing this service for over 6 years. When digital radiography first became available the image quality was less than satisfactory compared to standard plate films. With advances in computer technology,  image quality and diagnostic information is not only superior,  but radiation dosage is reduced by approximately two thirds  compared to the hard plate films. Hazardous waste disposal of silver bromide is also eliminated.   The other advantages include the ability to instantly transmit films to specialists for referral or second opinions. This technology is a win/win for everyone.

Digital X Rays are still taken in the same fashion as conventional X Rays will all of the same precautions.  The difference is that re-usable digital film "plate" used to capture the image, instead of conventional film.

After the digital X Ray image is captured onto the film plate, it is then "scanned" into the computer.

Enhanced digital X Rays for improved diagnosis
Once the digital X Ray plates have been scanned into the computer, they are able to be digitally enhanced if needed allow for more accurate diagnoses.  Above are several examples of these enhancement capabilities.
