"Dr. Joe Meng is a conscientious hard working person. I was fortunate enough to be treated by him while he was studying at Baylor Dental Hospital. He worked tirelessly to perfect my treatment, performing miracles for a deteriorating situation. He showed caring professionalism and dedication during his long tuition and I know this will continue when he is in practice. I will always be indebted to him and would thoroughly recommend his work to anyone!"

"It is a privilege to tell you my experience with Dr. Joe Meng. I first met him at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. I needed major dental work. I visited Baylor and was fortunate to be assigned to Dr. Meng. I realized right away that he was highly intelligent and a very conscientious young man. During the course of my treatment he worked long hours and would not stop until he was 100% satisfied with the outcome. He always required perfection of himself. His work ethic has left me very pleased with what he did for me. In my many visits to see Dr. Meng, I also realized that he was an achiever who wanted to get the most out of his studies that he could. He has an easily likable personality and was very pleasant to be around. I know all these positive traits will remain with him as he continues into private practice. Dr. Joe Meng gave me the beautiful smile that I wanted. I would certainly recommend him to anyone!"

"Like many of my generation, I recall with terror the dental visits of my childhood. As a pre-teen I became meticulously obsessed with my oral health care, brushing and flossing often to avoid the dreaded appointments. My efforts paid off and it wasn’t until my late 30’s that I again found myself in need of treatment beyond routine cleaning. The enamel on my teeth had begun to wear and grinding was thought to be the culprit.
As the years passed, the condition progressed to the point that all my teeth had severe enamel loss with exposed dentin and appeared to be about half the size that they were during my youth. I was then told that a combination of an acidic environment, grinding and possibly past medical treatment were responsible for premature wear of my teeth. Ironically, the pain that I had endeavored to avoid my entire life was now a daily fact of life.
Eventually the pain became such that I could no longer ignore it. After numerous consultations with various dental professionals, I finally decided to put my faith in the Postgraduate Prosthodontics program of the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX.
In 2007, I was assigned to Dr. Joe Meng, a third-year resident of the program. As I understand it, my situation was one of the more complex restorative treatments at the school during that time- all of my teeth, except for four, received crowns. The remaining four received veneers.
Additionally, Dr. Meng worked closely with members of the Graduate Endodontic and Periodontic programs to coordinate endodontic treatment on two teeth, removal of four teeth, and crown lengthening surgery on all the upper and lower teeth. To further complicate matters, my bite had “collapsed” and I was severely limited in how wide I could open my mouth. Even with a pediatric bite guard, working inside my mouth was a challenge.
I cannot imagine too many dental treatments as complex or challenging as mine. Although I’ve always taken pride in my appearance and it was clear my teeth were negatively impacting my smile, I would never have embarked upon this journey had it not been for the excruciating pain that dominated my daily life. I was absolutely terrified of the long road before me back in 2007 when I first met Dr. Meng.
Today I am totally pain-free, thanks to Dr. Meng. Truly, it is difficult to express just how impressed I am with this doctor as both a professional and as a caring, compassionate individual. He clearly loves his profession and his dedication is evident in his high quality of work. At Baylor, it quickly became obvious to me that Dr. Meng was among the most enthusiastic. He would dedicate long hours to his work and studies, refusing to stop until he was convinced he had achieved excellence. Dentistry – and specifically Prosthodontics – is not just a job to Dr. Meng. He clearly loves his profession and his dedication is evident in his high quality of work. As for his personality, I could never have endured such extensive treatment were it not for his patience and ability to reassure. It also doesn’t hurt that he’s very likeable with a fun sense of humor! And, the pain? Dr. Meng went out of his way to insure that my treatment was as pain-free as possible.
It’s now been 15 months since the completion of my treatment and my teeth look and feel as great as they did on that last day of treatment. I do believe that time is the best test of quality. Clearly, Dr. Meng delivered high-quality service. Although I initially sought treatment solely to alleviate my pain, knowing what I know now, I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Meng for purely aesthetic treatment as well. I regret that Dr. Meng is not practicing in the Dallas area but he always made it clear that his heart is in Montana. The Big Sky Country is fortunate to have such a gifted young professional!"
